you know the wind storm and flooding here in washington state? i think it's all my mom's fault. she's been hacking up a storm for the past several days. i bet she's why there's a 'state of emergency' here.
what? mom says she didn't start coughing until thursday night...days after the storm. are you sure? but you said you've been coughing up a storm.
oh. she says it's not the same thing.
sigh. i'll never understand beans.
mom here. been doing some research about why codeine cough syrup works on a cough. it's not the syrup, it's the codeine. it's a cough suppressant.
guess what else is a cough suppressant? dark chocolate. it has to be over 50% cacao. a 50g dose does the trick, and it lasts for several hours...enough to get some sleep. it really works! this is mom's favorite:

Our mom says that maybe she feels a cough coming . . . that chocolate looks yummy to her. We're not allowed to have chocolate.
Hope your mom is all better!

Oh chocolate is finally good for more than adding to the hips!!! I love dark! I hope it helps you with your cough and you can find some restful sleep. So comforting to know the kitties have been snuggling up with you as you watch the Christmas movies. We watch every night and DVR the rest...tonight was THE NOTE and it was wonderful!
Next weekend we are ALL going to Leavenworth for the town lighting ceremony...Miss Peach will be sleeping by the fireplace in the condo:)
Time for her meds now and then off to bed!
Remember we love you lots and think of you always...we are family you know!
Wow! Your Mom is powerful enough to cough up a storm! WOW!
Something has been going around. Everyone Momma saw for acupuncture on Thursday was getting sick and mostly it had a cough component.
It's snowing here this morning!

Oh wow, dark chocolate is a cough suppressant? Mom is so excited! She didn't know that, *giggle*. All the more reason to eat dark chocolate, in her book!
Oh, I am so very, very glad that we Ballicai were able to help your Mom by snuggling with her as a purring Ballicus Blanket!
And I agree, coughing up a storm is an exceedingly strange expression. Mom says it sometimes, too, and I always wonder, does that mean beans cause thunderstorms? *GRIN!*
Much love to you, darling floofy brother Ben, lovely little Lucy, and your sweet Momma!
Our mommie loves chocolate. It cures all sorts of things!
We hope your place is drying out, and that your mommie's cough is improving and she is getting sleep so she is perky!
Mom was very happy and thankful to get your surprise email wishes!
Thank you Thank you and (((hughughug)))
I'll have to try that - codine makes me throw up, so anything would work better :-) T.
Oooo ... I like the chocolate remedy even though kitties aren't supposed to eat chocolate. It sounds much more pleasant than icky syrup.

That's good information to know. I'll be sure to try that the next time I have a cold!

Honey is also a cough suppressant.
I think that I could possibly be okay with working on a cough with some Dove. :)
Today was my last day of work (self-elected) - I was going to try to make it through Friday and I felt a tickle in my throat today and thought... mmmm, no.
Finding out how likely a C-section is tomorrow (I'm thinking 100%) due to the size and girth of this kid. :)
He's supposed to already be over 9 pounds. LOL
