An early birthday present...

i received a a beautiful birthday card hand-made by miss peach's mom (miss peach is the second member of the sweet sixteens!). miss peach and her mom included a small bag of oh-so-excellent 'nip. here's me opening the card and enjoying its contents!

the day Suzanne fell behind the hot water heater. she fell face first into the tiny triangle made by putting something round into a corner. we had to drain the heater, use a dolly to move it out of the way, and hold the ankles of a skinny 15 year old boy who went head-first behind the heater to scoop her out. i think that used one of my lives.

friday, friday is our favorite day! and it's even better because this is my 100th post!

so let's see, who's the winner of this contest? MIDNIGHT (of Grr, Midnight and Cocoa fame) guessed 8:00 pm on May 4th. That's the closest one!

a new member in the family...

she's here! she's here! our new squillion is here! she was waiting for us when we woke up this morning. we're not going to waste any time before we introduce her...!

her name is delphine--mama's mama's name. grandma crossed the human rainbow bridge about a month before i was born.



grandma's name refers to the delphinium flowers...or to dolphins!

research day

while mama was at the office today, i started researching birthday party themes. being well-educated (i've accompanied mama through 2 masters degrees and part of a doctorate), i do have fun exploring the internet. my biggest challenge is using the space bar...opposable thumbs would be good.

party themes are fun to research. since the party will likely be in june (although the date isn't set yet), maybe we'll go with something summery--a luau? i'll have to ask the poiland tribe for suggestions...although they may be back stateside by then.

weird words

mama's throwing around words and phrases like 'data accuracy' and 'data timeliness', 'file review', 'quality assurance', and 'come back here and fix your file!'

i'm a little nervous that i won't get much of a 16th birthday party because my birthday is right in the middle of all of those weird words. maybe she'll throw my party when she takes a week of vacation after the audit. will you come?
